Our History

CCV Jersey is the end result of a consolidation of a number of local brokerages and then mergers within the Channel Islands & London insurance sectors.

Initially Ermitage Insurance Services, the company was purchased by Robert Gordon, a subsidiary of Price Forbes and Alexander Forbes in 1996. Following a worldwide rebranding, the Alexander Forbes name was adopted leading to the formation of Alexander Forbes Jersey Ltd in 1998.

The company purchased local broking business Martin Gray (CI) Ltd in 2000 and became Alexander Forbes CI Ltd, taking on the Guernsey office. Marsh Jersey Ltd and Shepherd Ltd were then purchased in 2004.

In 2007 Alexander Forbes agreed to sell its UK general insurance division to Lockton International, an American insurance broking business; and then in May 2008, Lockton accepted an offer from Cullum Capital Ventures to purchase the Jersey business, as it was looking to acquire well run and profitable regional broking businesses.

The Jersey Team has nevertheless remained constant over the years, working closely with our clients to ensure that they receive a bespoke product; specific to the individual needs of a client's organisation structure and industry.
